Section 23 vs. Klang ,

I’ve lived in Klang all my life. In fact most people who know me, know that I’m fiercely proud of Klang.

I went to the same school as my father… La Salle Klang, and my sister went to the same school as my mother … Convent Klang.

I’m a parishioner of the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes in Klang, it’s right next to Convent Klang.

Behind my church is a Hindu Temple.

In fact, for Saturday evening mass, you can hear temple bells go off during the priest sermon. It’s a bit difficult trying to concentrate when the sounds of bells go ringing, but my Hindu brothers probably feel the same about Church bells as well.

The section 23 folk seem to have an issue with a Hindu temple near their house. They feel it’ll bring crime, they feel it’ll bring traffic. Their intolerance is racist, and for those who dragged the cow head, I have nothing but pity for their deluded Anjing UMNO mentality.

My church is located in the heart of Klang. We live about 200 meters for a Malay man. He doesn’t mind the church bells everyday , or the temple bells either. In fact he has helped our church in his own way.

He doesn’t mind the church so near his house. The church was built in 1920s but I’m guessing his house was built before that.

You might say, well that’s just one Malay guy, …..well it is just one Malay guy, but this guy is special. So special he has own title…it’s called SULTAN.

Now the thing is, if the Sultan doesn’t mind a Church and and a temple within 200 meters from his the Selangor Palace, where do these section 23 guys get off dragging a cow head to protest a simple temple 300 meters from their house?

About 700 meters up a hill from my church is the Gurdwara Sahib of Klang, and less than 100 meters from that another Hindu Temple.

Less than 100 meters from that we have the St. Barnabas Methodist Church (my church is a Caholic one).

And less than 100 meters from St. Barnabas we have Masjid India Klang…which used to be a small mosque, though it’s not anymore. It’s now a massive building sitting right at the Entrace of Jalan Tengku Kelana.

Masjid India is a private initiative , because it’s patrons didn’t ‘masuk melayu’. They are both Indians and Hindus, and thus don’t get their Mosques and Suraus built for free courtesy of the government.

These guys often say their ancestor were Muslims before Parameswara was born. In fact during Parameswara time, it was the Tamils that were the Muslims and the Malays were the Hindus…keep that in mind the next time you bring about the culture of Malaysia.

Masjid India sits at the entrance of what is known as little India. It’s where people from all over Malaysia come to do their deepavali shopping. The shop lots sell more millions of dollars, and they’re just 2-storey pre war buildings and all pre dominantly Hindu Indians.

Yet, they don’t seem to have a problem with a Masjid India, or a Methodist Church, or a Catholic Church?

And if you really wanted to enjoy the diversity, 200 meters from the Masjid India is a Syariah court of Klang, barely 100 Meters from the Padang Sultan Suleiman which is near Masjid Diraja Sultan Suleiman which is opposite a Chinese School.

I could even tell you that 300 meters from my church across the Klang round-about is a Chinese temple with Chinese Operas being played on occasion.

Within this 2-square Kilometer of Klang, we have Churches, Temples, Mosques, Gurdwaras and even Palaces….yet no one has brought a cow head to protest.

Yet these people from Shah Alam, can’t even tolerate one temple in their neighbourhood.

I guess Klang is a much better place to live in than Shah Alam. Section 23, the real-estate there should be pretty low right about now…..just about the same level as public perception of your racist infested bigoted community.

That’s my 2 cents. Don’t spend it all in one place.

Where do we draw the line?

If your neighbour is a child abuser, and constantly hits his kids, would you report him?

Would you confront him first?

If his child says they were ‘naughty’ and deserved to be punished, would you leave it at that without reporting…. after all it’s an internal family problem?

If you neighbour was a wife beater and abused his wife, would you report him?

Would you confront him?

If his wife said she deserved being hit, would you ‘butt out’….after all it’s an internal family problem?

Are Christians suppose to leave it at that because it’s an Islamic issue, are Buddhist and Hindus suppose to remain silent because it doesn’t affect them? Would Muslims be the only people who can speak out against Muslim oppressing other Muslims?

Firstly, the caning of Karthika DOES affect me. Do you think the international press sees a difference between Muslims and non-Muslims in Malaysia. Do you think non-Muslims are not ashamed of our country when we go about caning a women and banning people from concerts on the sole criteria of their religion.

Secondly, to say Syariah law doesn’t affect me is utter nonsense. Lawyers have been remanded because their clients broke Syariah law, even though the lawyers themselves were not Muslims.

Non-Muslims like Moorthy have been buried under Muslim rights, even though their families knew they were not Muslims and the issue was for the Syariah Courts to decide although they were not Muslims.

It is AGAINST our law to whip a women. Section 289 of the criminal procedure code of MALAYSIA says EXPLICITLY that women can’t be whipped. That’s it, that’s final.

For some dumbwad to now go and whip women in the name of God is not only an insult to the legal process in this country…it is illegal.

Doesn’t matter what Kartika wants, doesn’t matter what you want…that’s the law and you have to abide by it. (unless you’re UMNO)

Finally and most importantly, we are all disgusted by the hypocrisy of the entire sham.

I’ve been to clubs in Heritage row and Jalan P. Ramlee that are Jam Packed with Malays. Not only were they in clubs serving alcohol, they were consuming it themselves. So why haven’t these guys been whipped?

We all know why, it’s the hypocrisy in the way we treat people who can afford Rm400 dollar bottles of Whisky and people who only drink beer in a hotel.

I’m not asking for enforcement in KL, I’m just saying that we need to cut the crap.

There are more legal problems with this. Under Malaysian law, you cannot whip a person unless they are imprisoned. Kartika was not passed a prison sentence and therefore cannot be whipped.

We have a situation where Kartika has been passed a whipping sentence but cannot be whipped because she cannot be imprisoned.

What kind of Judge would make such a fundamental error? And you want the Christians, Buddhist and Hindus to trust Syariah Judges? The incompetence is disgusting to say the least.

Zakat is discrimanatory, but here’s why I’ll be paying it

Zakat is the biggest piece of discriminatory legislation in Malaysia.
People may think it’s the NEP or Syariah courts, but to me , it’s so easy to prove economic discrimination against the non-Muslims of Malaysia by a so-called ‘Islamic’ government.
Here’s how it works:
1) If you’re a Muslim who owes the Tax Authority Rm10,000. All you have to do is pay Rm10,000 into Zakat and you don’t owe the government any more money.
2) If you’re a non-Muslim who owes the Tax Authority Rm10,000. You have to pay Rm41,666.67 to a Charity like UniCef before you don’t owe the government any more money. If you’re on the lower tax-scale (like myself), you’ll have to pay RM150,000 before you stop owing the government.
So a Muslim can make a ‘charitable’ contribution to Zakat and stop paying taxes, but a non-Muslim cannot do the same.
Zakat is not a charity, a charitable contribution is something you do with disposable income. The Zakat money (most of the time) is meant to offset Tax contributions, which means it doesn’t come from disposable income.
The Muslim in the example above HAD to pay Rm10,000 , it was just a matter of to whom.
Of course, I know a lot of Muslims who don’t claim tax-deductions of their zakat mostly out of principled…and a few out of ignorance.
But here’s the thing, you cannot claim it to be a charity, when most of the money that went into Zakat was actually channeled from the Income Tax. Income Tax makes up roughly 20% of Government income, and money channelled away from direct government income cannot be used for just one particular religion. It’s a simple matter of Moral Obligation.
If Zakat was made tax-exempt, then it would be no surprise to see a spike in government income of about 5-10%. This money would have be used to build roads, schools and bridges that every Malaysian could enjoy regardless of race and religion.
But there is hope yet.
Khalid Ibrahim has a plan to charge non-muslims Zakat. The rationale is, Zakat is channeled to state funds and not Federal funds. That way, the state government can levy a sort of income tax on it’s citizens, without having to rely on government funds (which unsurprisingly has been slow to come)
The idea of paying Zakat may seem absurd to many non-Muslims, and even disgusting to a certain extent.
Why should we pay Zakat, when the Muslims are insistent that Zakat cannot be used to help non-Muslims?
First of all, it’s Utusan Malaysia that is insistent that Zakat cannot be used to help non-muslims.
Utusan Malaysia is not the voice of Muslims in this country. The Muslims in this country have individual voices and they can speak for themselves, without Awang Selamat making rash statements supposedly on their behalf.
Secondly, where do you think all the funds for racist agendas like the NEP come from… the income tax. So we’ve been paying income tax to fund the NEP, the Zakat I’m more comfortable with.
Thirdly, the state government has the DAP, PKR and PAS. The only person I’m worried about is PAS. Whereas the federal government only has UMNO, where MIC and MCA have no say.
So if PAS is OK to disburse the Zakat money to state development projects that will be shared and enjoyed by all races and religions…I’m ok with that.
I trust the DAP and PKR to provide checks and balances.
I trust if DAP get out of line, that Wee Choo Keong will run his mouth on them with no fear (he’s my favorite MP by the way). I trust that if PKR get out of line, someone from either PAS or DAP will make it public knowledge.
I trust that if Hassan Ali starts his nonsense, both Ronnie and Khalid will set that two-timing UMNO wannabe in his place.
As a non-muslim, I’m OK with Pakatan Rakyat, because they have the best check and balance system out there…. they don’t trust each other. Therefore if anyone were to walk out of line, we’ll know about it soon enough.
So better channel my hard earn money to the state government rather than the Federal Government, which has a proven track record of fucking up.
That’s my 2 cents, don’t spend it all in one place.

The problem with censorship.

How is Rais Yatims idea of censoring the internet going to affect you. I feel it’s stupid and bad, but I also feel UMNO would lose out more support if it censors the internet, than if it kept the situation status-quo.

But first to other things this government has censored.

There are a total of 397 banned books in the last 9 years.

These aren’t just books that are meant to protect the Malays from ‘confusion’ , these are some rather normal books including Kundalini for Beginners. I wonder why my government wants to ban a book about Kundalini, in fact I wondered what the hell Kundalini was in the first place.

According to this article by the Global Campaign for free expression, Kundalini for Beginners was banned in mid-2006 together with other books. In fact out of the 397 books banned 94 of them were Mandarin, I’m unsure what Mandarin books were banned, but all this talk about protecting Malays from confusion starts losing steam once you see Mandarin books on the list.

Upon further investigation into the pathetically slow-loading list of books banned, I found several titles that might amuse most readers including:

1) MISDEEDS OF TUN MUSTAPHA
2) Suratan bertajuk M.I.C. IS ANTI-ISLAM AND A THREAT TO RELIGIOUS HARMONY
3) Peter J. Mojuntin The Golden Son of The Kadazan
4) Report of Amnesty International Mission to the Federation of Malaysia 18 November 1978
5) How We Won The War” – General Vo Nguyen Giap
6) BRUCE LEE – Hee Poh Publishing Co.

Of course I couldn’t look through all of them, but these banning of books is ridiculous.

And now the Government wants to decide what you can and cannot view on the Internet.

If Government has proven before that it is willing to BAN Amnesty reports and Political literature from General Vo Nguyen Giap, what makes us think it will NOT ban political dissenters in Malaysia?

What re-assures us, that fans of Malaysia-Today, MalaysiaKini and Harakah are going to be able to view they’re favorite news portals?

What re-assurance do I have that I can view the Herald online?

The government should not censor the Internet, it is going back on it’s word on it’s promise to investors.

If the government can’t keep a simple promise like “We won’t Censor the interenet” , how can we expect the Government to uphold other promises.

That being said, BN doesn’t hold a monopoly on such stupidity. In fact, I’ll show you that Rais Yatims decision to censor the internet may not be in UMNO best interest.

Kg. Buah Pala Debacle…proof DAP isn’t all that good.

DAP Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng today noted that Kg. Buah Pala residents demanded Rm3.5 million per resident. A ridiculously high number, and most people (once shown the number) immediately get disgusted by the sum and have a negative impression of the residents. Depriving them of the their biggest asset…. public support.

Anil Netto whom I trust more than Lim Guan Eng, and Aliran (whom I trust more than all politicians) note than the Rm3.5 million was never thrown up by the residents.

Anil clarifies the figure here:
“I did see the RM3.5 million figure mentioned once, in one of the handouts given. But look at the context: that was when the residents were reacting to accusations that they were greedy. They retorted that the real greedy parties were those who were coveting their respective property lots, some of which they claimed could be worth up to RM3.5 million. That’s quite different from asking for compensation of RM3.5 million or demanding a RM3.5 million bungalow”

Aliran mentions that the residents were not given proper time, with no assurance of anything. When a group of poor residents goes against a corporation rich enough to build multi-million condominiums, there normally is a tilt in power. The only position the residents have is to sue.

According to Aliran in the offer:

  • There is no guarantee when these houses would be ready for occupation.
  • There is no indication on which part of the land these houses would be located.
  • There is no indication of the cost of these houses.
  • There is no mention whether these houses would be built first to allow the residents to move in at the shortest possible time before the commercial project takes off.
  • There is nothing mentioned regarding the rental that would be incurred when the residents are forced to look for alternative accommodation upon the demolition of their houses.
  • To add to these uncertainties, there is also a condition that states if the amended layout plan to accommodate these houses is rejected by the approving authority, the deal would be off and the residents would not have any hold on the Koperasi and Numestro for any compensation. If this were to happen, the residents would have lost their homes and would be entitled to nothing whatsoever – not even a sen. In that eventuality, they would have been exploited and deprived of everything that they have had on this land: their lives, their homes, their history, their heritage.

So basically… the corporation is telling residents, we’re going to build you a house:
1) Not going to tell you when
2) Not going to tell you where
3) I won’t promise when the house will be completed
4) I can’t promise you that your house will be completed BEFORE I destroy your existing property.
5) If you accept this offer you can’t sue me ….forever.

WHAT THE BLOODY FUCK?

I would not buy a house if the developer could not promise me (with exact detail), where the house was to be built (up to the centimer), how big the house would be (up to the mm), when the house would be complete (up to the day) and a promise of the quality of work (up to the brand of tiles they would use).

I cannot expect these residents to give up the only home they have for an amount of uncertainty I deem unacceptable.

Here’s how the offer was designed:
1) The ultimatum is meant to apply pressure on the residents to accept

2) If the resident accept, then the developer will jump for joy. They have a ‘get out of being sued‘ free card for a minimal price of building a undefined house. Undefined in the sense that everything from location, size and date of completion can be decided on the whim and fancy of the developer.

3) If the residents don’t accept, then the developers tell the world of the offer and then smear the residents with a Rm3.5 million rumour.

I hate it when large corporations think they can take poor people for a ride.

I hate it when politicians refuse to have empathy for those involved.

I hate it when politicians and corporations get together with their Public Relations buddies and start bulldozing their way forward, by creating negative impressions and ‘bad press’.

The only way around this is free journalism and non-partisan reporting. Or at least a wide variety of partisan reporting from either side.

Thanks Anil and Aliran. I trust these non-partisan reporters more than any other form of journalism.

Censoring the internet may not be in BNs best interest either. Without non-partisan reporting, shit from the DAP may be hard to come by.

I am now placing DAPs logo on my blog at bad, and it reflects how I think DAP is handling this issue. The logo has 5 points, ranging from Good to Fucked up, currently it’s just one level above fucked up.

That’s my 2 cents, don’t spend it all in one place.

Ronnie Liu vs. Hassan ‘I want to join UMNO’ Ali

Should Ronnie Liu be asked to resigned because he followed the Law?
That’s an interesting question, but the more important question is the power of a government to dictate what a retailer can and cannot sell, how much regulation do we need from the government? What are the economical, social and political issues surrounding this issue?
I’ll cover that…but first to Ronnie.
Is there a provision in the Law for MBSA enforcement officers to confiscate beer from a premise? If there isn’t any provision, isn’t it unlawful for them to confiscate them.
Should Ronnie be penalised for returning beer that was confiscated unlawfully?
Apparently Hassan Ali from PAS thinks that laws can be enacted on a whim and fancy. If the State Exco is unaware of such laws and provisions, how can a regular shop owner be expected to know the law. Isn’t it morally wrong to confiscate someones livelihood.
The question isn’t about whether Shah Alam Muslims are offended, it’s a simple matter of the Law. If you can’t legally remove beer from the shop, you have no right to take 70 beer cans away from the shopowner, that is denying him his livelihood.
The MBSA is not in the business of enforcement religious laws, nor confiscating ‘perfectly legal’ merchandise, and Ronnie Liu was right in returning the beer to the shop.
Hassan Ali cannot ask for someones resignation because he acted in accordance with the law. If he really wants to regulate beer sales in Shah Alam, he needs to enact a law for it first.
It’s that simple.

Economics
The shopowners would not be selling alcohol if people were not buying them. 30% of Shah Alam is still more than enough people to sustain beer sales.
If Shah Alam has 200,000 people, 30% of that is 40,000 people. It doesn’t take a genius to know you can easily sell 70 cans of beer to 40 thousand people.
So there are people who are buying beer, and the law provides that they should be allowed to buy beer. Nobody elected the MBSA moral guardians to prevent that from happening.
The economics suggest that there is also a sizeable minority that would like to have beer served in their area, the law states they are allowed to do so. I don’t see the problem.
It’s that simple.

Social
Firstly, I agree that 7-11 shouldn’t be serving beer. The last thing you want is a 24 hour supply of beer.
That being said, the reason why non-Muslims are uncomfortable with this is because this has turned from a social issue (that everyone can come aboard on) to a religious issue.
Rather than pointing that it isn’t right for any minor to drink alcohol , Hassan Ali has mentioned that Ronnie Liu had “meddled in Islamic affairs”.
First of all it’s not an Islamic affair, if it was then JAIS and the religious authorities would be involved not MBSA.
Secondly, mentioning Islamic affairs, when you confiscate merchandise from a retailer makes people feel uneasy. Religion should not dictate what I can and cannot sell in my premise.
The same way UMNO turns everything into a ‘challenge on the Malays’, is the same way PAS turns everything into a ‘challenge on Islam’. Bloody pathetic.
I believe, strongly that retailers should be FAR more responsible in the sale of liquor. I also believe there should be a stronger regulation on the sale of cigarettes, which for all accounts is a bigger problem the alcohol.
So if parents are worried of underage drinking, aren’t they also worried about underage smoking? If so, how come no one confiscated cigarettes?
The only way to explain the disconnect is that Islam prohibits alcohol but not smoking. There in lies the problem, when you mentioned Islamic affairs, and start forcing your religious beliefs on everyone else, the natural tendency is for people to react and defend their right to consume alcohol. It is tantamount to telling me I can’t consume alcohol because your religion doesn’t allow it. That’s wrong.
Hassan Ali was wrong to lable this as an Islamic affair, he would have far more support, had he just mentioned it was a social ill. Christians, Buddhist, Hindus and Sikhs could all get aboard an initiative to stop serving alcohol to minors, and to better regulate the sale alcoholic beverages. Mentioning Islamic Affairs prevents a multi-religious approach to solving this and stops short of totalitarian goverment policies.
That’s just bad marketing from PAS, and stupid of Hassan Ali, which by the way is looking to bury his political career by talking to UMNO. Let’s also take a look at the political landscape on why there is this public bickering by 2 Selangor state assemblymen.
Political
It seems it’s open season on poor old Ronnie these days.
First of all, the only reason people believe that Ronnie is related to the underworld is because of Wee Choo Keong , Azmin Ali and an anonymous blog claim he is.
Nobody has substantiated this claim, no one has made the connection. Has anyone seen Ronnie discussing prostitute dens , illegal vcds and extortion? Do we know where Ronnie Lius Territory is? Does it ride in a ‘souped up Hummer’ with shiny rims and pack a magnum 45 in that flannel shirt he wears. The guy looks my grandfather and people are making him out to be Al Capone of Klang. It’s an insult to Klang…. and my grandfather.
Typical stereotypes, this old looking Chinese man from Pandamaran has to be a Gangster. How else could he be a state assemblyman? You could put a monkey next to Zakarias daughter, and the monkey would have won the 2008 elections. Ronnie is no more a Gangster than I am.
If the claims have no proof, they have no merit. Why people believe this is beyond me.
No one has proven that Ronnie is a gangster, and until that connection is proven, we HAVE TO assume he’s just a regular Joe.
Hassan Ali on the other hand, is not a regular Joe. He did try to negotiate a ‘UNITY’ Government with UMNO. A government Nik Aziz is fully opposed to.
He is the traitor, he is meddling in my affairs. I voted for PAS and expect PAS to hold up it’s bargain and stay in Pakatan Rakyat. Tell this two-timing whore of politician to resign before he holds any more talks with UMNO.
For those of you who don’t know : “Khir had apparently hinted he was willing to become deputy menteri besar if Selangor PAS commissioner Hassan Ali was made menteri besar” . This guys was in cahoots with Khir Toyo to have a unity government in Selangor. Where is the respect for the majority of Selangor who voted PAS as a member of PR rather than BN? This conversation was done barely days after the 2008 elections.
So since I’m a voter in Selangor, I would actually ask for Hassan Ali to resign instead of Ronnie. Let’s have my MP, Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud be the Islamic Affairs Exco instead. It’ll be good to have more women in state excos holding proper positions, and it’ll be good to have a Muslim women in government…not many of those around these days.
To be honest, beer should be regulated better. Underage drinking is not a problem, but beer shouldn’t be sold at 24 hour shops, I’m uncomfortable with that.
That being said, Petrol Stations shouldn’t sell cigarettes either, neither should shops near schools. How we much regulation do we need, that’s discussed in the next paragraph.
Where do we draw the line?
Should the government have so much power it can dictate what you can and cannot sell?
Should it dictate that Malay weddings refrain from serving beef, and Chinese Shops close during Ramadhan? That convenience shops only serve meat certified by Khairys Halal Development Corporation?
Should it infringe on your can of Coke, or Maggie mee (19% fat) on the pretext of health? Should the government regulate your health by preventing retailers from selling you unhealthy products?
To me the answer is ‘HELL NO’. What’s your. How much control should the government have over convenience retailing. We know they should regulate hard-liquor and cigarettes, but where do we draw the line? Which side of the line do you stand on?
That is the question of this whole debacle, and it’s an important question, far more important that the personal bickering of 2 politicians.
That’s my 2 cents. Don’t spend it all in one place.

How much public opinion can I change?

What’s the point?

If public opinion is alright set, then what can one man day?

The voters paradox is a simple conundrum, why do people vote, knowing full well their one vote would not matter in the greater scheme of things?

Why do people spend the money, time and effort to turn up and vote, knowing an extra vote in this on particular ballot box, in this one voting station will have absolutely no bearing on who becomes the next Prime Minister?

Worse still why do people turn up at voting stations, to purposely and intentionally cast spoilt ballots… don’t these people have better things to do with their time?

What happens when people gather together, we get CROWDS.

Predicting what an individual might do (who one person might vote for) is a messy business, but in all honesty we all feel we can predict who will become the next Prime Minister.

Why? Why do we feel we can predict crowds rather than individuals, because crowds all follow simple laws of group dymanics. A single person can at any moment choose to act a certain way, but a crowd has social ‘norms’ a crowd has ‘accepted behavior’ and people within a crowd tend to follow social norms. It’s very rarely we get a divergent view within a crowd, if anything a crowd would get more radical as time goes by.

So what’s so dangerous. Well on top of the growing scientific data that crowds tend to adopt much more radical opinions than each individuals would have expressed alone (Le Bon 1895), there is also some other dangerous things about crowds. Namely bystander effect and some sort of anonymity disclosure.

People feel they can act violently in a crowd, because crowds grant them a certain amount of anonymity.

Why am I telling you this.

Well, when you have an entire Pro-ISA rally (known for it’s radical views) and an Anti-ISA rally meeting at a specific location in KL, then I don’t like what’s possible.

Two crowds, two differing opinions….one location. What the hell do you expect to happen? That the crowds meet, exchange business cards and go home?

Why isn’t anybody doing anything.

On top of the racist nature of the pro-ISA camp (please name me one non-Malay organization that is part of this), it’s radical pro-UMNO stance is not going to help. If UMNO Youth can act like a bunch of animals in Parliment, what makes us think these guys can be controlled?

Really, am I the only one sensing danger here. I’m not predicting a May13, but realistically is anybody expecting ‘nothing’ to happen? Especially when the only reason the pro-ISA crowd is planning it’s rally is because the Anti-ISA crowd is holding a rally?

Isn’t that some sort of intimidation? What does a Silat association have to do with anything about the ISA?

Do you honestly mean to tell me, all the members of this particular Silat Group got together and found out they were Pro-ISA?

If the Government can tell the Catholic Church to stay out of Politics, then what is it doing about Silat groups?

The bottom line though, and you should remember this:

2 crowds, 2 differing opinions…….1 location.

That being said…I’m still going cause this is where I stand, where do you?

That’s my 2 cents, don’t spend it all in one place.

Simple Answers to Stupid questions

It’s good to have some quick answers to questions that Utusan continously ask, their latest article Nasib Melayu di bumi Melayu (link here) is just one of the many hate filled articles design to influence their readers into a feeling that Malays (and Muslims) are being oppressed by the non-Malays. These are obviously false, but it’s good to just digest a couple of the points they have and have quick rebuttals for them, in case you meet any of these dingbats online.

Point 1 : Declaring Teo Beng Hock to be the legal parent of his son (his fiancee was 2 months pregnant when he died).

The article says:

The real question is, there are Malay girls in Malaysia that have illegitimate children and UMNO is doing nothing about the problem?

You either accept that there are no Malay girls with illegitimate children or that UMNO is not going a good job at governance. This is a moral and social problem that has not been addressed by UMNO.

On MCAs request, while I do not condone pre-marital sex for religious reasons, but I am not the moral guardian of Malaysia, what people do behind close doors is up to them. To pass Moral judgement on people is both hypocritical and stupid. Utusan is both.
Point 2: Why not wait for the Investigations to complete?

Well we could, just like we’re waiting for Kugans report. Just like we’re waiting for the PKFZ trial, just like we’re waiting for the countless court cases in our justice system.

If Justice delayed is Justice denied, then Justice has been denied to the family of Kugan. We no longer have faith a judiciary that continuously denies justice it’s that simple. Utusan doesn’t feel this, because they probably know Lingam.

We will not wait, we insist on a fair investigation. How likely that is to happen is another story.

Point 3: Would DAP have made noise if Teo Beng Hock was a Malay?

Firstly, the fact we have to 11 years ago to find a Malay death is shocking. Why not talk about Nurin? The reality is that we’re angry because Kugan, Teo and countless others have died in the custody of our government, and the government should be held accountable. It is that simple. The same reason why Najib must be held accountable for the children of Malaysia who have died in our National Service program.

If I force you to come to my house, keep you till 3.45am , and then 1pm the next day police find your dead body sprawled on the green grass of my garden, then I’ll be suspect number one. Just like the MACC. It’s a logical conclusion.

Plus Uncle Lim did call for a commision , proof here, which proves he probably cares more about the security of Malay girls than UMNO ever did.

Point 4: Destruction of temples and mosques

Berapa banyak surau dan masjid dirobohkan untuk tujuan pembangunan? Berapa ramai bukan Islam tampil mempertahankannya? Orang Islam masih boleh menerimanya. Itulah sikap toleransi yang amat saya kagumi.

Firstly, Mosque and Suraus are not paid by private funds, they are paid for by the government. With tax payers money, every Malaysian regardless of race and religion pays taxes and therefore indirectly funds the contstruction of Mosque.

What that means is that every tax dollar I’ve paid has helped build a mosque or Surau somewhere. The same is not true for Churches and Temples. Churches and Temples are built with private funds from worshippers. Muslims do not pay for my church building by I have paid for Mosque.

Secondly, of the top of my head I can name 4 temples that have been demolished, my church had it’s application for an extension to our church building denied 10 years in a row and the Shah Alam Church required nearly 15 years of negotiations with the government before they finally gave us a factory lot that it acquired from CNI using the National Land Act.

Point 5: wrong facts

Jumlah kuil Hindu sahaja sudah melebihi masjid dan surau, apatah lagi jika dicampurkan dengan rumah ibadat agama Buddha dan Kristian dan lain-lain.

There are at least 60% Muslims in this country, assuming all Muslim men go to Mosque on friday, 30% of Malaysia can be housed in all the Mosque in Malaysia at any one time. There aren’t even 30% Hindus in Malaysia. The claim is baseless and stupid.

Christians go to Church on Sundays but normally there are 3-5 services per church over the weekend. There is only one time slot for a religious service at a Mosque. Therefore it’s logical to assume there are more Mosque than all the non-Muslim places of worship in Malaysia.

The better question, why was this country silent when Military Juntas like that of Myanmar waltz into the capital killing monks and foreign journalist. We continue to remain silent on Myanmar, yet Khairy feels compelled to tell the US how to handle the Middle east.
Foreign policy is not the same as local policy. It should not be treated equal. Eventually even UMNO is silent on the matter, why not chastised them as well?

Isn’t PAS and UMNO the defender of Islam? Are they afraid of China. Why doesn’t Mahathir call for a boycott of Chinese products? It really is hypocritical, we dare not criticize China, but so openly criticize America, Israel and even Singapore.

Point 7: Apostasy

Begitu juga isu apabila adalah orang Cina/India yang bertindak keluar daripada Islam yakni Murtad atau orang Melayu murtad, berapa ramai bukan Melayu yang tampil ke hadapan memberitahu mereka supaya janganlah murtad.

It is not my duty to prevent Muslims for leaving their faith, that is obviously a job for Muslims to do.

It IS my duty to welcome ANYONE who wants to be a Christian, and my religious obligation to help them on their journey of conversion.

If tomorrrow a Malay friend of colleague asked me about Christianity I would be compelled to explain to them with my best effort everything about Christianity. If they wished to convert, I would help them as much as I can , neglecting all consequences.

Would a Muslim act differently to an Indian Christian who wants to convert to Islam?

Point 8: Body Snatchers

First of all it is not Malays that ‘Mengalah’ it is the Islamic authorities. The Islamic Authorities cannot be lumped together as Malays, not all Muslims are Malays.

Secondly, all these claims of conversion are usually baseless and useless. In the case of Mohan Singh and Moorthy, these were ridiculous lousy. Not enough evidence to convince anyone of conversion, yet their bodies were taken away from their families.

The key point is that non-Muslims should not be subjecting to Syariah law. It is the Islamic authorities that are encroaching on my rights. Where is my right is the better question?

Point 9: What about me?

For non-Malays like myself.

-There is a 7% penalty for my house price. My house is more expensive than yours simply because I am not a Malay.

Really, Malays have far more rights and have taken more rights from the non-malays. It is not a call for the ending of rights, but a call for equality in Malaysia.

I believe Malays can rise to the challenge, it is the UMNO backed politicians that believe the Malays are back-water folk that cannot compete with the ‘Chinaman’. It is a belief so entrenched in their mind-set that it almost creates a negative placebo effect that all Malays cannot compete and we end up where we are today.
If you’re a Malay and reading this, I implore you to measure yourself and your Malay friends against your non-Malay friends. Do you see a difference? You probably won’t, there is no scientific data to suggest you are any less intelligent than the Chinese or Indians, so why do so many Malays believe in this?

The answer is UMNO. We must rid ourselves of this disease, to get rid of the negative placebo they spread.

That’s my 2 cents. Don’t spend it all in one place.

This is where I stand. Where do you stand?

3 key points have now been grouped together under Malay rights, the ISA, The Malay Press and the Satu Sekolah Untuk Semua Initiative. The biggest bunch of crap ever assembled. I’ll go through each of these 3 points and have you decide whether it’s a Malay right, or simply propaganda spins by hate inciting groups.

THE ISA
Malaysian Silat Lincah Practitioners Association leader, Mahaguru Omar Din, confirmed that they would be taking part in the Pewaris-led march. Omar said the ISA was the “key” to maintaining peace in the country and silat practitioners were not engaging in an show of force.

Whatever the hell Silat Lincah has to do with ISA is beyond me, but the supporters of the ISA are from exclusive Malay groups (with the exception of the occasional Mamak like Mahathir).

“We just want to show our support for the ISA. We will avoid any contact (with GMI). We are all Malays,” said Omar.

That of course is the biggest show of stupidity since that one Liverpool fan decided to show up at Manchester United vx. Malaysia ……in a Liverpool jersey.

There is nothing to tie the Malays with ISA, the Malays are not locust that think as a one entity, they are individual people with individual opinions. The ISA was never meant to protect Malay rights, it was meant to protect Malaysia from the communist, unless Chairman Mao is staying in Kuala Pilah or Kuantan we have no need for this ridiculous law. So Stop spinning it into a Malay thing, because that IS racist, it is a Malaysian thing and we are now ashamed of this draconian law.

Malay right or UMNO spin? you be the judge

Next…

Apparently, the Malay press is also a Malay right? The Malays have a right to read the news in our national Language, and a right to publish it. Even the Chinese and Indians have a right to publish and read the news in Bahasa Malaysia.

But when we criticize dumb fucks like Zainul Ariffin (editor of Berita Harian) we’re not questioning anybody’s rights. We’re just saying he’s a dumb fuck. No need to get the entire race involved in a personal matter between me and a dumb fuck. Trust me, 90% of bloggers out thre are smarter than this guy.

How dumb is Zainul? These are his words:
Kenapa Menteri Besar Selangor, seorang Melayu, meragui kebolehan orang sebangsanya bertindak dengan tulus dan adil?

Which traslates to “Why would the Chief Minister, a Malay, doubt the ability of a Malay to act in an open and fair way?”

If that’s the case I should not doubt Samy Vellu, or Vell Parri…for that matter I should not doubt Kalimuthu or Uthayakumar.

Then the Chinese should trust Lim Kit Siang? How about Ong Tee Keat?

The simpler question though…why doesn’t Zainul trust Anwar Ibrahim? Isn’t Anwar a Malay as well?

The UMNO press, is playing this racially and is being called for it. It now continues spreading this rumour till people start to believe that the DAP or PKR are the ones playing the racial card, when common sense tells us UMNO is the spinner of this.

Malay Right or UMNO spin?

Next….

Satu Sekolah untuk Semua…..The biggest show of hypocrisy since Rafidah Aziz cried at Mahathirs ‘resignation’ drama act.

The Satu Sekolah untuk Semua is supported by the likes of pro-umno racist blogs like Demi Negara, Jebat must Die and probably other un-patriotic dumb fucks.

Satu Sekolah untuk Semua, should have a more accurate name.

Satu Sekolah untuk Melayu, Satu Sekolah untuk bukan Melayu.

How can you say satu sekolah untuk semua, when you don’t want to open up matriculation to non-malays. When you don’t want to remove Agama Islam and Moral from our syllabus. That is not one system, that is two systems drawn along racial and religious lines. When a Indian girl can’t go into matriculation or take Agama Islam instead of Moral….that is not one system for all.

There should be just one system, students can pick their subjects but they would not be picked along racial lines but individual choice. You should not have to take a subject simply because you are of a certain race. The fact that some Malays are choosing chinese schools over Sekolah Kebangsaan is proof of detioriating standards for common non-politically connected malay folk.

Malay Right or racist spin? (of course this isn’t UMNO these are more racist Malays)

Of course, these guys call anyone who supports the Satu Sekolah Untuk Semua as patriots and everyone else chauvanist, to me they are all dumb fucks.

I’m the Patriot because I stand for what Malaysia stands for and I stand for what Dato Onn Jaafar (who wanted to open UMNO to non-Malays), Tengku Abdul Rahman (who clearly stated Malaysia was a secular state) and Tun Tan Cheng Lock and Kundan Lal Devaser all stood for.

I stand with the founding fathers of Malaysia….where do you stand? Which propaganda do you believe, when an entire party is not angry at the death of an Indian in Polic Custody or Chinese under the MACC custody that just reflects the deep feeling within UMNO that non-malays are essentially non-human.

That’s my 2 cents, don’t spend it all in one place.
