I’m Racist

KEITH, YOU ARE BLOODY RACIST. WHY CAN’T YOU ACCEPT THE SUCCESS OF PETRONAS AS A MALAY SUCCESS?

WHY DON’T YOU SAY THE FAILURE (IT’S NOT ACTUALLY) AS A FAILURE OF MALAYSIA AND NOT JUST MALAY?

WHY ALL SUCCESS OF MALAY YOU WANT TO IGNORE AND JUST LOVE TO HIGHLIGHT FAILURE?

YOU ARE BLOODY RACIST KEITH”

These were the words Anak Bahtera Merdeka leveled at me, because I mentioned that Petronas was not a symbol of Malay success but rather a symbol of Malaysian success. I’ll prove later in this article, that if I am considered a racist because I have asked that Petronas be treated as a Malaysian (race-free) entity, then DPM Muhyiddin Yassin should also be considered a racist.

There is a entire plethora of Malays who are un-willing to accept that Malays can be successful. This intra-ethnic bias is what is keeping the Malays down.Racism stemming from within the Malay race is what’s keeping country down, not me.

Keith vs. Anak Bahtera Merdeka

The exact words that triggered this emotional response were:

First of all, it’s a Malaysian success not (a) Malay success.

Malays can’t claim ownership of Petronas or responsibility for it’s success, it is a Malaysian enterprise and must be treated as such free from the clutches of racist bigotry like the on present in this article….” – Keith

I mention treating Petronas as a Malaysian enterprise and I’m a racist, but the guy who mentions Petronas as a Malay enterprise isn’t?

Isn’t ‘Malaysian’ the Nationality and ‘Malay’ the race?

Wouldn’t take make BigDog and Anak Bahtera Merdeka the racist? and me the ….nationalist???

Is Petronas Malay or Malaysian?

Let’s ask DPM Muhyiddin Yassin.

Muhyiddin said it was also wrong for Asli to include government-linked companies (GLCs) in its calculation of bumiputra equity ownership.

“These companies are owned by the government which in turn is elected by the people, which comprises both Malays and non-Malays,” he said. (taken from this article here)

So I guess if the DPM thinks that GLCs (like Petronas) should be treated as Malaysian enterprises and not as Malay enterprises, then who are these guys to say no?

BigDog and Anak Bahtera Merdeka better start calling Muhyiddin Racist as well. (just to be consistent)

If you accept that from an equity perspective Petronas is Malaysian, then from a corporate perspective it must also be Malaysian. You cannot claim one without the other.

And if calling me a racist wasn’t enough:

INI TYPIKAL HUJAH BUKAN MELAYU YG ANTI MELAYU!!!! TAK PERNAH NAK TERIMA ADA MELAYU YG MAMPU JADI JAGUH KOPRAT PERINGKAT GLOBAL!!!!” – yet another dumbass

First of all, I’m definitely not ‘Anti Melayu’ I have Malay cousins, and being related to me, they are obviously smart. (and good looking) :)

In my short career I’ve had 2 Malay bosses, both very capable at what they were doing and both at Multi National Companies. In my first ‘real job’ my boss was a Malay man with decades of experience, and I learnt a lot from the 6 months I was under him.

I would have ABSOLUTELY no problem with Tan Sri Hassan Marican being a symbol of Malay success, just like Indra Nooryi is a symbol of Women corporate success. These people are great leaders and they should be a source of encouragement for many.

But a Corporate entity like Petronas is a Symbol for Malaysians..not just for the Malays. To treat it as a Malay entity is wrong and ….. racist.

So forgive me, but I’m the Patriot Malaysian, and those other guys are the racists. (BigDog, Anak Bahtera..etc)

What about Proton?

Finally what about Proton, if we call Petronas a Malay success, shouldn’t we also call Proton a Malay failure?

Well Proton is a failure, and it’s a national failure. In fact some of the Rm80 billion dividends from Petronas will probably be used to bail out Proton. The same logic applies, these GLCs are national icons, and whether good or bad they belong to us all equally. Unfortunately, the government policies do not favor this equal distribution, but that’s for another day.

Why the difference then?

Imagine buying petrol with your credit card at a Petronas station, it will cost you exactly the same amount as buying petrol at the Shell, Esso, Caltex, BHP, Mobil and Projet station. Petronas is not protected by the government… Proton is.

The tax leveled on Proton is far less to the Tax leveled on Toyota and Honda, yet Malaysians would rather buy Vios’ and Citys then spend about 10k less on a Waja.

This is all due to mis-management and stupid behavior. Proton unwilling to compete, and the government unwilling to let go,

If you, truly believe that Malaysians (including Malays) are capable of great things. Then we must let go of the crutches and let our companies compete head on in brutal corporate warfare. I’m not saying Proton would thrive…or even survive. It may die, but that’s something we have to live with.

I’m saying let’s get rid of this inferiority complex that has griped this nation. Unfortunately, this inferiority complex seems to be extremely pervasive within the Malay race.

The inferiority complex that spreads into a self-serving delusion coming from within the community itself, spread by politicians looking to build on fear. Trying their level best to convince the Malays that they are an inferior race, when this is not just contrary to the fact, but contrary to simple common sense. Politicians desperately trying to potray everyone else as evil and convincing people that Malays WILL be left behind, and Malays WILL be confused, and Malays WILL lose out.

Why can’t it be Malays WILL thrive or Malays WILL understand and Malays WILL gain? In the next paragraph I’ll show you just how pervasive this false propaganda is.

Melayu akan?
Type the words “Melayu akan” in google (you have to put the quotes), and you’ll get the following in the first 10 results alone:

1) Melayu akan terus berpecah
2) Melayu akan tinggal nama sahaja
3) Melayu akan pupus (tanpa bahasa)
4) Bahasa Melayu akan pupus
5) Melayu akan “merempat” di tanah air sendiri
6) Melayu akan hilang kuasa

There’s a fact you can verify yourself.

The results for “melayu akan” are all NEGATIVE and they were ALL WRITTEN BY MALAYS. Some of them UMNO politicians.

So the question then is…

Whose the racist now?

That’s my 2 cents. Don’t spend it all in one place.
