Insulting the non-malays.
I don’t like being categorized into any category starting with ‘non’. Do you categorize people by male and non-male? That’s a different story for a different day. Let’s focus on what seems to be the hot topic these days. Mr. Ahmad Ismail.
Mr. Ahmad Ismail is some head honcho of Penang UMNO who said that Chinese were squatters in this country. When asked to apologize, he refused and instead built on his original argument by adding that the Chinese should not act like ‘American Jews’ that control America both economically and politically.
His ‘gang’ of friends who act more like a bunch of thugs than members of a ruling political party, went even further by threatening to reporters and insinuating that they should “be shot”.
Now as suprising as this may be, this is in fact typical UMNO behaviour and we’re not interested. Ahmad Ismail was suspended for 3 years from UMNO. That hardly constitutes a punishment worthy of his crime, but what the heck.
Now some bloggers have had their little conspiracy theories that Ahmad Ismail is actually and Anwar supporter and Anwar loyalist. Some bloggers claim that this is a plan by Anwar to return to power. Let’s be perfectly honest, Pak Lah is stupid, but he’s not that stupid, if this truly were an Anwar plot, why couldn’t they take harsher action against Ahmad Ismail? Why wouldn’t they just chuck him out of the party?
Speaking of Anwar, hear about that plan of his to conquer the country on September 16th? I had some conversations with people, and most people are OK with the idea of Anwar taking power on September 16th, even Haris Ibrahim (people’s parliment).
I cannot imagine how a bunch of politicians can orchestrate a takeover , and tell the people the exact date of the takeover, but not tell the people which MPs are going to cross over. Let’s be fair and transparent, if you want to take over, why not take over now. Why wait for a given date? The same question applies for sending nearly 1/3 of a parlimeant to stury argriculture in Taiwan. A trip so hastily planned and executed, the actually planned the dates BEFORE they planned the destination….all on tax payers money.
This is an insult to both my intelligence and yours, in 1997 people were glad that Anwar was sacked, it was the non-malays that gave Barisan the mandate in the first post-Anwar election. Mahathir was regarded as the savior and Anwar was the devil. Now it’s the other way around…. politics has a way of doing that I guess.
Who would have thought the man to bring multi-racial politics in this country, and to eliminate race-based politics would be Anwar Ibrahim. That’s like saying Khairy is the man to eliminate race-based policies in this country 10 years from now.
Let’s get back to insults:
As a level-headed intelligent man, I’ve felt insulted MANY MANY times in the past by my government. Non more so than this:
