Conspiracy Theory Malaysia: Part 1

Conspiracy is defined (from a political sense) as a group of persons united in the goal of usurping or overthrowing an established political power. It sounds intriguing and exciting.

I’m going to wonder of course this time, and inject a new flavor into my blog, it’s not a conspiracy per se, but it is something exciting and for the time being purely hypothetical.

Ever wondered why Balkis and Bakti, and Khir Toyos wife seem to be getting more publicity? Ever wonder why in Malaysia pre March-8 these pieces of news would never see the light of day? Ever wonder why Khir Toyo proclaims Samy ordered the demolition of the temple? Or why only now do we see bickering in BN, when common sense would tell us, the bickering would have begun on March 9th.

I think there are already camps forming (note the plural) within UMNO and even within BN. I also think, that there’s more than 2 camps. Think about the facts:

1) Hishamudin resigns from the UMNO youth post.
2) Khairy (probably his de facto) successor remains silent about challenging for the post.
3) So far only Khir and Mukhriz have openly said they will contest.

So Hisham thinking of a move upwards, and Khir and Mukhriz have they sights set on a post. Hishamuddin has no reason to quit, he is after all Education Minister, and history tells us, only the top UMNO dogs get the post. The last Education Ministers were Najib and Anwar, both of which could well become Prime Minister one day.

Then we have Muhyidin , who has become more vocal then ever before, and he probably has his sights set on the DPM post by now. So, whose left:

1) Najibs playing the waiting game
2) Khairy is remaining deafiningly silent about this
3) Nazri is also in the running
4) Rafidah Aziz has a grudge to bear, and don’t underestimate the power she yields in UMNO.

We’ve got a whos who of UMNO, all of which have uncertain (and exciting ) futures. As Mukriz, Khir and Hisham have made their intentions clear, Najib , Khairy and Nazri remain silent. Problem is, there is only one UMNO head Youth Post, and only one Man can become DPM and PM respectively.

The numbers don’t add up for 2 camps, it’s actually 3. Samy isn’t on Khirs side, so he’s probably on Mukhriz considering his long standing relationship with Mahathir. Ong Ka Ting, today made some bold statements about converts, signaling he’s not staying quiet about the matter. So MIC and MCA are trying to come out of their shells to show, that they are NOT UMNO running dogs.

It’s a huge web of political deceit.

The question is this… Abdullah Badawi is PM because he is the leader of BN (not UMNO).

If the gets voted out in an EGM, will the next President of UMNO become Prime Minister. Yes.

The more important question would be, should the next President of UMNO become Prime Minister. The answer is not without the consent of MIC,MCA, Gerakan and the other parties.

While every other post in UMNO should be a internal affair, the President (who by default becomes Prime Minister) is a post that affects the MIC , MCA , Gerakan and other parties as well. So if they elect Najib as Prime Minister…. would Ong Ka Ting or Samy Vellu agree? The reason why MIC and MCA did so badly was because the Indians and Chinese looked upon them as UMNO running dogs, would they accept the appointment of a new Prime Minister that would reinforce the Running Dog theory? Or would they grow a pair and proclaim support for Badawi?

It’ll be interesting to see. With 3 camps in UMNO and unstable coalition government, only one thing can happen… absolute democracy.. because when no one holds absolute power… everyone is scared of the voter.

That’s my 2 cents, don’t spend it all in one place.
