No Place for NEP is globalized world

Our FDI is slowly declining, while our Ministers and Press INSIST we’re on the right track. For those who want to see the products of the NEP:

1) Only a Bumi can own a petrol station: Now they all want to close by 10pm. When you’re given a license to provide necessity , you no longer have the right to choose your operating hours. I’m not saying that Bumis are lazy, what I’m saying is, when you’re given something with little to no competition you become complacent and appreciate it less. Plus, I still don’t understand the rationale behind allowing only Bumis to own a petrol station.

2) Proton: Have you seen the latest car? It’s nothing new, they just took the front of the Waja, spiced it up and joined with the back of a Gen-2. HOW CAN PROTON SURVIVE IN A GLOBALIZED WORLD? Toyota will literaly wipe the floor with Proton, and this is because of NEP-like protectionist policies that have made proton un-competitive.

In short, whenever you protect someone and shield them from the harsh realities of the world, they become complacent and lose any competitive edge they may have had. This is what the NEP is doing and it should be DONE AWAY WITH.

This isn’t a sensitive racial issue, this is an economic issue that will affect all Malaysians and should be discussed openly rather than behind close doors before being swept under the carpet.

That’s my 2 cents, don’t spend it all in one place.
